Due to the prior occupant's ham-fisted lack of style, I'm stuck with a jarring mess of kitchen cabinetry, flooring and hardware. These glasses (I ordered a pair in every design, large and small) in the linen color pull off the truly impossible by bringing it all together (as much as it can be brought together). I hold them up to the golden oak colored cabinets, and the glasses take on a delightful, light, warm cast. On the salmon/pink and gray swirled tile floor they show to perfection. Granted we're not sitting on the floor to eat but I still sit them on the tile and marvel at how gorgeous they are - the glass picks up just enough of the salmon pink for a perfect glow. I sit the glasses on the light neutral green solid surface countertop and they go perfectly with the olive/hazel green and salmon pink specks in the stone or whatever solid surface is. When I sit the glasses on our light gray tempered glass table they take on a neutral tone, as they do on white surfaces. I was worried they would be too brown or too warm but they're definitely not. I'm so happy with them!!
ProsThoroughly versatile, sophisticated color - long live linen!! The smaller sizes in the other designs are ideal for juice. Initially I thought Kastehelmi might be a bit too fussy for my tastes but turns out it's my favorite of all, and drinking from the stemmed glass is such a refined way to spend parts of of everyday life. The glasses are substantial and sturdy yet elegant.
ConsFamily members who aren't as concerned with such things will tire pretty fast with the number of times you say, "Hey, look how well this [x] goes with these glasses." "Doesn't this look amazing??"
