During the 1950s, Marimekko designer Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi was so inspired by the rich colors of Tibet and India; she created her timeless Indus pattern with its bold and color stripes. Similar to her Hennika pattern, the Indus stripes use big repeating blocks of bright color to set itself apart from many of Marimekko’s other striped prints.
