About Sateen:
The sateen weaving process places more threads on the surface of the fabric instead of equally woven within the fabric which results in a weave that is extremely soft to the touch. Slightly less durable than other weaving techniques, the extra soft and luxurious nature of sateen fabrics require a bit more care during washing.
Care: Wash in cold water on the gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. Iron on warm as needed.

I have washed my new sheets twice now and the wonderfully soft material has become slightly rough and pilled up. I thought the comforter filling seemed cheap and foamy. I absolutely love the print ,but for the high cost of the set I am disappointed with the material. The fitted sheet did not fit my standard size king mattress well. I would not recommend this set.

I love the pattern on the sheets, very fun, but the fabric they are using nowadays is really disappointing. They washed up better than I expected considering how thin the fabric is, and on the back side of the print, you can almost count the threads. For the price of all Marimekko fabrics, I expect them to use top quality 100% cottons, with the highest thread counts, I can't figure out why they would risk their reputation with lesser quality fabrics.

I had been looking at this pattern for over a month but hesitated over the price tag. After looking at countless sheet sets, I decided that this was truly the one I wanted. It arrived today. I washed it w/ Wool-Lite in cold water, gentle cycle per package recommendation. The sheets came out beautifully. There is no pilling or running of colors. They are super soft and look gorgeous on the bed. I ordered the Queen size. They fit my deep mattress very, very well. The pillowcases are a tad larger than my pillows, but I needed to buy new ones anyway. I'm thrilled with these items. They make our bedset look brand new.
