When I ordered these placemats I was a bit concerned about the coating, not wanting that to have the feel of plastic. But the fabric still feels like fabric, looks textured, and the colors allow different colored dinner dishes to "shine". Spills are easily picked up, so the coating also works.
The design evokes happy memories of many stays in the Finnish woods in summer.
