The contemporary design matches the title of the blanket beautifully. The colors are different from what I am used to see in Marimekko fabrics and I was not sure I would like them together with some items I wanted to combine the blanket with. But it all works with some "rearranging".
The blanket is amazingly soft and feels good to the touch (can't get the cat off it...). I am glad I made this purchase.
