Fujiwo Ishimoto's 1983 Piekana (Cliff) pattern is part of a collection called Iso karhu (Ursa Major), which was inspired by a book depicting the life of the Finno-Ugrian peoples. The colorful checked print is an ode to traditional ikat dyeing techniques, where colors bleed into one another. Here, it's featured on a small cup with a handle for coffee or tea. Made from white stoneware, it's conveniently microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher safe. The orange and burgundy colors evoke feelings of fall leaves and all things autumn.
