Maija Isola's mod Unikko pattern is in a Pieni (small) scale on this Marimekko fabric. The 100% cotton is smooth and flowy, but the acrylic coating makes the fabric highly resistant to stains and easy to wipe clean. Ideal for a tablecloth, runner, smock or bib, the summery orange, pink, and yellow poppy pattern is ready for work and play.

Bright, cheerful, easy-care. Now I have to find someone to sew edgings on it for a tablecloth.

The fabric is delightful. It looks more like cloth than acrylic on the surface. Once I find someone to sew on edging, it will make a wonderful tablecloth for when our young grandchildren are with us.

Wipes up easily. This acrylic coated cotton is completely different from the PVC coated cottons of old. Just love that this isn't sticky or plastic-y at all, so feels fine to the touch.
My table is 88 inches by 42 inches. How many yards should I purchase to make a table cloth from this fabric???
1 Answer
For a 6 to 7 inch drop on all sides of the table, you can request 2.5 yards of fabric for your order.
To do this, place an order for THREE yards online and leave a CUSTOMER COMMENT in the box at checkout requesting we reduce it to 2.5 yards. We will then adjust the order and price (we do not charge orders until they ship out, so we can adjust the price).
Or you can call the order in as well. 866-617-6176, M-F, 9-5 Central

Can this fabric be sewn on a machine? Does it unravel if not seamed? Thank you/Kiitos!
1 Answer
It can be used on a sewing machine. Like with any fabrics, there is a chance it could slowly separate over time on the edges after use if not seemed, however this does not lose fibers like a regular cotton fabric would and many people choose not to finish the edges, for instance, if they were using it for a tablecloth, etc.
