Fujiwo Ishimoto's 1983 Ostjakki (Khanty) pattern is part of a collection called Iso karhu (Ursa Major), which was inspired by a book depicting the life of the Finno-Ugrian peoples. The colorful checked print is an ode to traditional ikat dyeing techniques, where colors bleed into one another. Printed in Finland from cotton-linen, use this textile to create curtains, wall hangings, table linens, and more. The orange, burgundy, and gold colors evoke feelings of fall leaves and all things autumn.

See secondary photo for approximation of one repeat.
