The idea for the Apilainen (Small Clover) pattern came to designer Lotta Maija while at her summer cottage. An easterly wind brought big waves to shore, causing the yard's flowery grass to sway back and forth in a memorable way. Here, the field of flowers is printed in Finland to serve as fabric home projects. It's crafted from 100% heavyweight cotton and coated in acrylic to be easily wiped clean - though it can still go in the washing machine for bigger messes.
Please note: This fabric is coated in acrylic, not PVC as Marimekko fabric previously was. Although it is less shiny and smooth than the PVC fabrics, it has even greater benefits. A safe and eco-friendly alternative, acrylic-coating has better stain repellent qualities than PVC, is machine-washable, and is foldable without leaving marks on the fabric.

I love the new acrylic-coated fabric that is easily wipeable and also fully washable! Unlike the old heavier coating on Marimekko fabric, it can be easily stored and does not leave marks when folded.
Pros
