Not superstitious, but super stylish? This is the perfect pillow for you. The Les Chats, amis de Putte (The Cats, Friends of Putte) collection was inspired by designer Klaus Haapeniemi's own pet cat Putte and his feline friends living in their quiet neighborhood of East London. Here, his black cat is resting regally on a ledge above the garden. The nine-lived feline is dressed to the nines with a patterned body and sleek cap, reminiscent of the cats regarded as royalty in ancient Egypt. The back of the ivory linen-cotton cushion cover is covered in a fruit and floral motif with the same level of intricacy, so you can switch up the design whenever you need a change in scenery. It has a discreet size zipper to remove from an insert whenever machine washing is needed.
Optional insert is polyester-filled and hypoallergenic.
If ordering with insert, item cannot be gift wrapped.

I purchased three Klaus Haapaniemi Les Chats Throw Pillows with inserts in three different designs. I first saw the Les Chats line some months ago and couldn’t decide how I felt about them—whether I loved or hated them—but they continued to nag at me and after numerous revisits to the site, I finally decided to purchase them. I am a cat lover and especially like that these portray cats in their complexity, rather than as cute and cuddly. Similarly, the flora patterns that frame the cats and are on the reverse side are not the typical pretty flowers. Throw pillows are an easy and relatively inexpensive way to transform a room and I have numerous sets that I change out regularly. These are an intriguing and dramatic addition to my collection. They are not for everyone—my neighbor was politely horrified at some of the cats—but I LOVE them.
