Only 300 of this exclusive and limited edition FinnFest 2019 bird have been produced, making it as rare of a collectible for Toikka collectors as it is a sight in nature. Only .05% of cardinals have white coloring, due to a condition that causes a lack of melanin in their commonly crimson plumage. A white opal body pays ode to the fascinating phenomenon and is contrasted by a dark grey tail with a galaxy of dazzling, windswept markings. The tail also has a tortoise-shell texture that can be felt and seen in certain lights with movement. This special bird has a gold-brown luster beak and a cranberry red head with the classic, cardinal crest, while a streak of grey runs along the back. Home to many Northern cardinals, Detroit, Michigan was the hosting city of FinnFest 2019. I almost didn't order this cardinal based on a review. They stated the red comb part was washed out. Well mine is a beautiful shade of red. And the blue tail portion is much more dramatic than the photos illustrate. I couldn't be happier especially with the great deal i got. Thanks.

Nowhere Near the Example for Head and Plumage Coloring

First, I understand that each Toikka bird is hand blown and individually styled. However, the cardinal I was sent has no coloring on the left side or back as shown in the website example. Since the beak of the bird faces slightly left, none of the coloring can be seen. The bird also appears to have been once returned with the factory box/bird wrapping/foam opened/repacked and the bird handled (palm prints galore). I plan to return for an exchange as it was slated as a gift.

A Lovely Work of Art ...a Beautiful Cardinal!!!!

This cardinal is unique and gorgeous!!! I reside in Michigan. I look forward to visits from the cardinals at our bird feeders!! Since FinnFest was held in Detroit ,MI this year, I fell in love with this bird immediately!! The Toikka birds are all very beautiful, but this one is my favorite!!!! Also, it is limited to only 300 pieces. The sale price is very good. As always, the customer service at FinnStyle is outstanding!! I have been a customer for many years, and I have always been impressed by the friendliness of the gals who have been there to answer questions and fill my orders. Delivery is prompt!!
