Professor Oiva Toikka captures the warming allure of the Cedar Waxwing in celebration of FinnFest 2015. Like its muse, his artistic interpretation boasts the namesake red spot on its wing and a tail dipped in luminous yellow. A crest and black, mask-like break are other distinguishing features that have been beautiful reinterpreted by Toikka and the master glass artisans. Handcrafted in Finland, each mouth-blown piece will be etched with "FinnFest 2015 O. Toikka IITTALA" to remind you of its origin and authenticity. This craftsmanship allows each special edition bird to be a truly unique gift or addition to your own collection.A beloved resident of the Finnfest 2015 site in Buffalo, New York, the Cedar Waxwing is known to nest in loose clusters or wander widely in groups. The beauty will be just as easy to spot amidst your flock of Toikka birds with its colorful characteristics and stunning silhouette.

I own quite a few of the Toikka birds, from small to large, accumulated over many years. Hands down, this is the most beautiful of them all. The blending of colors and the proportion of the birds beak, tail and the little crest at the back of the head are outstanding. The richness of color and the glow of the glass is not fairly represented in the photo as this bird must be seen to be appreciated. It is stunning. I am hesitant to write such a glowing review as I would love to one of a few people to own this as the bird is so beautiful. It is already an object of envy from extended family members and friends alike.
