Q & A
The iittala Ovalis Vase was originally designed by in 1958 by Tapio Wirkkala, a designer of over 400 glass objects and countless other sculptures and innovations. The mouth-blown beauty challenges normative forms while achieving function without fuss. Released exclusively in 2015, the iittala Ovalis Grey / Clear Vase - 6-1/4" honors 100th anniversary of Wirkkala’s birth. The base is engraved with Wirkkala’s signature and “100 IITTALA 2015”. The subtle ombre of grey to clear adds intrigue to the elegantly simple profile so that the vase stands as a sculpture on its own when fresh flowers aren't around.
