Beautiful yet utilitarian!

We had eight of the medium/small Aino Aalto glasses in clear for the longest time, but between grandchildren and the occasional patio accident, we were down to only two. The search had to get underway! We auditioned all of the glassware that FinnStyle carries in roughly the "juice glass" size and Raami was the unanimous favorite. Top Qualities: catches the light beautifully and throws a discreet pattern with shadows. Perfect fit for several sizes of hands and the exterior glass seems somewhat "grippy" even though it is a smooth surface. All four household members mentioned the "heft" or "nice weight" as this is a substantial glass and has a feel of quality. Last but not least, the lip of the rim of the tumbler is beautifully formed, smooth, with a substantial radius, taking its' cues from Kartio. One small unexpected item: the ribbed design is on the inside of the glass, even though in photography it would seem to be on the outside.
Beautiful, substantive weight, casts light shapes and shadows, utilitarian.
We'll assume Jasper Morrison and the experts at iittala knew exactly what they were doing and why, and after you buy these glasses you will fall in love with them, however, every photograph and video gives the appearance that the ribs are on the outside of the tumblers, when in fact they are inside and the outside is smooth. Not really a con, but the marketing description for the pieces should find a way to say this and turn it into a selling point.
