iittala Essence was designed by Argentinean designer Alfredo Häberli in 2001. Häberli designed iittala Essence with the belief that simple forms enhance the enjoyment of fine wine. With just a few glasses, the potential of a full range of fine wines could be unlocked. This simple yet innovative philosophy led to iittala Essence. Modern and minimal, each stem and base are left the same for a cohesive presentation. The bowl is shaped for optimal appreciation of the grape it is designed for. The mouth-blown, lead-free glass allows for a thin lip that feels natural in hand and is pleasant to sip from.

iittala Essence is among the most highly acclaimed glassware in the world, and won the iF (International Forum Design) Award as well as the Les Découvertes Award.
