One solid piece

I love my Iittala Cheese Slicer. Since it's one solid piece there are no crevices for cheese to wedge in and create bacteria, or to make cleaning a tedious ordeal. I find that I have control over the thickness of the slice by how much pressure I apply. Actually, I did not expect it to work well on crumbly aged cheddar, but it works like a champ. It's so nice to be able to have consistent thicknesses of cheese slices when it matters. On top of that, being one solid piece of stainless steel makes it incredibly easy to clean. Just a sprinkle of soap and a soft mushroom brush gets it clean within seconds. To make sure I don't damage it, I wrap it in paper towels before putting it in my knife/tool drawer. I considered having my husband drill a small hole in the handle so I could hang it, but reconsidered and did not do that. Really glad I found FinnStyle during my quest for a cheese slicer.

This cheese slicer is exactly what I was looking for!! The cheese slicer I had and every replacement I could find had a joint between handle and slicer. Over time the joint fails. I was looking for no joint ... a single flowing piece. The iittala Collective Tools Cheese Slicer is it! I agree with the reviewer who recommended including a profile view showing the ergonomic shape. It looks good; feels good in the hand; and, works well!

Completely new shape

I used to own the original version of Citterio Tools cheese slicer, loved it, and then lost it at a party. Bought this one to replace it, and was surprised to see a completely new profile shape, with a significant double curve in the handle, not visible in the promo photo. It's a GREAT update, functional, and super modern looking.

Iittala should provide a side profile view photo of this product, so customers are not surprised and expecting the previous/original straight shape

I saw this cheese slicer in a small gift shop but didn't buy it at the time. I knew I liked the way it felt in my hand and thought I'd check out FinnStyle. Glad I waited since there was a % off waiting for me on your website. Works great and I appreciate the design that goes into most Iittala products. Now I have my eye on flatware. Great product, and really appreciated the excellent packaging and fast delivery. This is the best cheese slicer I've owned - the fact it is all in one piece means it won't break like those with wooden handles. The ergonomic design by Antonio Citterio is fantastic, and feels great in the hand. High quality steel, too.

I bought one for me, and then bought one for each of my sisters for Christmas. It feels great in your hand, and does a beautiful job. And it can survive thick slices like my husband likes! Highly recommended.

This is the perfect medium-to-hard cheese knife; I'm planning to buy 2 or 3 more of them as gifts.
What is the best way to use the slicer? I just tried using it on cheddar cheese and had to use the top of the slicer.
Would it work better with gouda or havarti cheeses? Thank you

The middle slicer section will work best on a harder cheese and the edges work better on softer cheeses.
