The handsome Pirkka bench is crafted entirely from solid wood, giving it the feel of furniture of traditional, old-word furniture but with a modern and minimal shape. Birch painted black serves as the frame while the seat and backrest are a contrasting yet cohesive brown-stained pine. Designed in 1955 by Ilmari Tapiovaari, the rounded and tapering contours of the frame are timelessly sleek.
