The beloved birch Stool E60 by Alvar Aalto gets revamped in a rich walnut stain with a light coat of veneer to allow the natural wood grain to shine through. This stackable stool was designed by Alvar Aalto during the years of 1932-33. He developed the bent L-shaped leg to achieve balance between timeless aesthetic and long-lasting functionality. This unique bending technology became the basis of his simple stools and was later patented and applied to his other furniture designs. This is my second Aalto stool, first four legged. They are just beautiful in their simplicity and versatility. The walnut stain is a warm, rich color that works well with my vintage walnut pieces. It did take about 2 months to arrive, but am very pleased now that it’s arrived. Hoping to add a couple more to my collection soon.
