More about Artek Alvar Aalto Anniversary Colors Stool 60The iconic stackable Artek Alvar Aalto Stool 60 designed by renowned Finnish architect/designer Alvar Aalto turns 80 this year (2013). Six special edition colors taken directly from Alvar's Paimio Sanatorium, the first building he designed that was furnished entirely with his own factory-made furniture, are now available to celebrate this milestone. The yellow of the floors, the green of the walls, the turquoise of the handrails and walls, and the orange, white and black of the furniture of the Paimio Sanatorium inspired this anniversary edition. These three-legged stools consist of lacquered, single colored seats and natural birch legs. Designed in 1933, this revolutionary and timeless design is still one of the most famous classics internationally.

Blue Anniversary Color Stool 60

I love the Pantone Smart Swatch 19-4340 Lyons Blue and this stool is a remarkable match to that blue. I already have the E60 Artek Alvar Aalto Stool in natural birch and find it the perfect size. I was looking for another stool with a similar small footprint for a different room and found it here.
