The handle is long enough to almost reach the top of my bucket and reaches over the stones so l?mp?massa can be achieved without searing your hand. That said, I'm taking one star off because the bamboo handle gets hot to the touch. I'm sure the lacquer finish doesn't help. I didn't realize bamboo grew in Finland? Naked cedar would be better handle material, but the ladle is a good value and I'm mostly happy with it.
