Marimekko Mini-Olkalaukku Black Shoulder Bag

I have the regular Olkalaukku bag and it's pretty awesome, but it's big - you can't use it as a pocketbook - so I went ahead and got the "mini," and I think it was the way to go. I can fit my iphone in one of the two pockets under the flap, which is extremely right on. The main compartment is a good size for me - what constitutes the right size? What is the right size for me might not be the right size for you. For me, I can fit some papers in the main compartment, or a book in a pinch; yet, I don't have to rummage for twenty minutes to find my keys. I think a nice feature is that it's a good quality bag. I wanted a bag that was durable and could take some knocking around - I'm a busy person, and drive a van, not an Audi, and the cavas is durable and awesome; yet: It's not a few pieces of fabric slapped together - it's a Markimekko bag so it's thoughtfully designed, and well made from good materials. At first glance, it looks like a pretty casual bag, but if you take a closer look, it's like, Actually, that's a really nice bag.

This bag is a perfect size, I can still throw a book in this bag and it has enough pockets that things don't get lost in the bottom. I got the red one, it's a beautiful color and so far doesn't seem to show dirt easily.
The only downside is I wish it had one of those heavy-duty magnetic snaps for closure. So far not having a closure hasn't been a problem, but there are those situations (like in airports or crowded subways) when you want the extra protection.
