About Sateen:
The sateen weaving process places more threads on the surface of the fabric instead of equally woven within the fabric which results in a weave that is extremely soft to the touch. Slightly less durable than other weaving techniques, the extra soft and luxurious nature of sateen fabrics require a bit more care during washing.

Overall Rating for Marimekko Blue Unikko Comforter
True blue.
By Dave from Vero Beach, Florida on April 1, 2012
The comforter replaces a similar Marimekko comforter that has become worn. The new one has a nice silky feel. The color scheme fits perfectly with existing striped awning-fabric panels for the window. For some reason, true-blue bedroom fabrics have largely vanished from the stores, replaced by pastels, usually greenish. It was great to see Marimekko available, in blue.Pros:
It looks well-made, should last quite a while. We were looking for a really blue comforter (one could possibly claim that the lighter parts of the flowers are Carolina blue, the darker University of Florida).Cons:
Nothing much.I would recommend this item to a friend.

Disappointed
By Suzie from Brooklyn, NY on November 1, 2011
Although the pattern itself is beautiful, I am disappointed with the quality of the product. We only had the comforter for a couple of weeks and one of the seems came apart. I sewed it up by hand, but felt that the comforter was expensive enough that it should have held up better, certainly not come apart in less than a month. The filling itself isn't all that great either.Pros:
