Marimekko Madison WI Blue Cotton Sateen Fabric The crispness of a clear Midwest winter day is reflected in Maija and Kristina Isola’s fabric Madison WI (Wisconsin). Originally conceived in the late 1970s when mother and daughter were working together for Marimekko, this print was likely inspired by Maija’s stint living in the United States in Madison, Wisconsin. Since conception, Madison WI has gone through a series of chromatic transformations at the hand of Kristina Isola. In the latest rendition, frosty branches sway across a palette of blues and purples, creating depth and movement reminiscent of a walk through a winter forest. This cotton sateen would make beautiful drapes, a stunning tablecloth, or a luxurious refurnished couch.
