The Marimekko light blue La Boca fabric is designed by Finnish Marimekko designer Maija Louekari. Louekari’s designs are rendered directly from her notebook sketches, which come from observations of the outside world; La Boca is named after an area in Buenos Aires. Louekari uses bold colors, repetitive lines, organic rhythms, and humorous scenarios to give movement and three-dimensionality to otherwise static and flat planes. The blue version of this fabric has reds, turquoises and browns, all which complement each other and give great life the environment Louekari has created.
