Maija Isola's fascination for exotic countries and for traveling is evident in her fabric designs of the 1970s. When abroad, she made lots of sketches and paintings, which she used as the basis for many fabric prints. Her Kookas print from 1974, and revised in 2006, features exotic influences and motifs.
