Kalevala - Ratsumies The Horseman Pendant - Silver
The Horseman by Finnish composer Aulis Sallinen is where Kirsti Doukas draws her inspiration for the third jewelry collection for the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
The Horseman is a romantic story describing love under circumstances that prove to be thorny not only for a man but especially for a woman. Objects found in the world of horsemanship inspire the allusion to the collection: metal rings, harnesses, and leather straps and laces.
The Horseman collection has an intriguing way of embodying the theme of the opera with a clear implication to modern design of jewelry.
Kalevala's Ratsumies choker is made of tight braided rubber, has an easy-to-use silver clasp, and holds a handsome Horseman pendant. The pendant measures 1-1/8 wide and is 1-1/2" in length.
