The final installment of Osmo Vänskä’s Beethoven Symphonies is not to be missed. This last collection includes two very different Beethoven Symphonies: 2 and 7. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 was completed during one of the darker periods of the composer’s life, when he was struggling to come to terms with his coming blindness, but still possesses a surprisingly optimistic tone. Symphony No. 7 is widely considered one of Beethoven’s most robust and rhythmic.
